I am intrigued by the idea of an exhibit about historic buggies. The exhibit itself seems a little costly but hopefully it will bring in more money with increased attendance. It would be great if the museum could be open more than 25 hours a week.

Operating budget would be easier to understand if it was included in the form and not in the budget detail section as narrative.

Nice focus on outreach.

Hipschman Dorrie - Score: 74.000

Collections Question - Who manages the collection?  There is only one paid staff member whom I assume has to be on the Museum Floor 25 hours/week when it's open.  How will they add the buggy collection to this work?

Impact - What are the 265 events?

Budgetary Questions

1.  Where are they now on Fund Raising?  It seems a very challenging goal given their past financials

2.  Under budget all the income is from "applicant cash" please explain.

Accessibility - They need to do the 504 or demonstrate that the County as a different but comparable process.

A very informative application, with a singular focus on one major exhibition project. This specificity made clear the intended use of grant funds. The grant application did, however include more information than necessary in order to support the proposed project.

Excellence:  The Proposal description was good, but could have been strengthened by a paragraph dedicated to how the buggies related to Seminole County, if at all, or if buggies like these impacted the development of Seminole County.  It would have been helpful for there to be a direct link to the mission explained in the proposal.  It would have also been a stronger application if partnerships were not only government agencies and the donor, some developed with organizations across the county to bring to life other impacts shared by the rise of the buggy.

Impact demonstrated the center is a vital resource, its economic activity, and outreach, but neglected to spell out specific proposed activities in this section other than their standard field trips.  Not in timeline, but notes 265 proposed events - are these the number of days open to the public in a year?  The media coverage is good and received some early coverage on the buggies and fundraising program.

Management: No full time paid staff. No clear reporting history.  It appears the Society has cash in the bank to match the DCA grant request, but I'm confused that they have no clear operational expenses or revenue.  I understand from the mission statement, this group is the support and membership entity for the Museum, but they do not raise nor expense organizational funds?  Need clarification on this.

Accessibility - it's a bit of a concern the applicant has not conducted an accessibility self-evaluation of facilities or programs, although they have a staff? person responsible for compliance (is this volunteer staff?).
