Brisky Jerre - Score: 77.000
The mission of the organization appears to not be arts based and they provide minimal arts programming within their overall budget. In addition, the organization has not completed the accessibility self-evaluation of its facilities and programs.
Garren Cynthia - Score: 80.000

huge mission; objectives to celebrate Jewish heritage through the arts - good and clear; Jewish Film Festival; Jewish Food Festival; PJ Library would have liked more detail

6465 people engaged;

partnerships & collaborations - could be stronger; how do you partner with the listed orgs; what do they provide?

timeline - more detailed should be provided

evaluation - needs to be more thorough

diverse arts & culture programs but I would have liked more support materials of marketing materials to get a better sense of your activities

Good additional operating budget info;

is the endowment for arts & Culture or all programs? Tell us how past programs were "wildly successful."

  • Kudos on all your initiatives!
  • Are there any updates on partnerships for the project of this proposal? At the time of this proposal’s writing, no formal agreements were in place.
  • It would help to have a more-detailed timeline. Visibility and collaborative activities are mentioned, examples of these in the impact section are needed, since they are part of the proposal ("planning and development is stated to occur in "the first months of grant award").
  • More marketing and promotion detail is helpful. E.g., social media is listed to be part of the marketing mix. However, no information is given as to what social media platforms are engaged or to what depth (e.g., solely posts, boosted posts, etc.). What is the "Secular Media Initiative" within the project budget? What media and to what depth do they entail?
  • The project budget lists $10,000 in "Select Event Attendance Fees." Is this new in FY19-20? Previous, current and next fiscal year's operating budgets reflect no admissions fees.
  • The $100,850 grant request makes up 48% of the project's income. Although the organization appears to have a healthy, unrestricted endowment, how much of a shortfall is intended to rely on that?
  • Although support materials are optional, they are a great help to grant readers - to give a deeper sense of programming, marketing, and visuals. Consider making more use of this in future grants.
