I am a broken record. No demonstrated support from individuals in the community. Just one government requesting funds from another government. Naming rights can be acquired before construction, by the way. I do not believe this grant builds a case for the need for this project or its impact on the community. Outreach?

I would have liked to read more clearly defined community partnerships or proposed partnerships. |

This is another city trying to build a Cultural Center without input from the local artists, without input from an Arts Professional and without local support in the form of monetary pledges. I also see no Corporate or Foundation support. The letters of support were weak, no letter from Mayor or City Comission, no letters from local arts organizations and no letter from your local state representative. Why are construction documents not finished? Haven't you appliedfor a grant twice before for this same Amphitheater? |

Strong Community, Financial and Environmental Statements. Project timeline could have been more detailed. This grant would have benefited from estimates of the impact. How many visitors will come if the project is complete? Measurable outcomes and goals are always encouraged. This grant fits in with the stated goals of the grant program. Would have liked to hear any plans around accessibility. Exactly the kind of letter of support I look for, from organizations that use the facilities.
McMath Hope - Score: 78.000
Would like to see additional buy in on the match in addition to city funds. Would like to see a demonstrated need for additional programming or how this investment enhances significantly existing programs. Who will manage, coordinate, and evaluate the arts programming happening in the new space? The grant says that it will be handled by current staff level and structure. Exactly how does that work? Good support letters. |

What are the artistic qualifications of Parks staff that will operate this facility? What direction does the stage face? Why would you want pedstrian traffic to walk behind the stage and have anyone entering the seating area have to come from the front of the audience? Wouldn't the noise of a fountain behind the audience would make it difficult to hear? There is not much concrete details about programming need other than you won't have to rent a portable stage for the Arts Festival.
