This is the grant cycle for July 1, 2018- June 30, 2019. All of your proposed timeline activities are outside the grant period. Since the timeline of events is not part of the grant period, I am focusing my comments on Project Listen.

Since Project Listen works with 25,000 students each year I would like to see a more detailed description of what you do. Are there workshops? Do you travel to schools? I would like to see back-up to your claim that other arts programs are declining. How are your programs equipped to serve such diverse populations as homeless shelters, the LGBTQ community and children with special needs?

Concerned with the choice to reduce print media, without having a large base of social media/ email support. I don't think this will help you grow your audience.

Had to reduce score in accessibility as the Exec. Director stated she had not completed the ADA workbook since 2014. You stated that you work with underserved populations, some of which have special needs/disabilities. Completing the workbook should be a top priority.

Jose Brian - Score: 87.000

Applicant highlights mission goals and objectives, but I would like more depth on the partnerships. How do they really benefit each other?

Project Listen displays great programmatic impact. I would like to see more evidence of economic impact.

The budget issues, although somewhat out of the organization's hands are still of concern.

I would like to see more detail on how evaluation will be administered and used.

I am confused around the 504 situation. I will hope that the applicant can provide an update as to whether the 504 training has been completed.

Palkhivala Tania - Score: 95.000

The Timeline section is meant to help reviewers understand the planning and implementation of the general programming during the grant period; the information you provided does not reflect this.

The Arts & Economic Prosperity calculator could be useful to help you articulate the economic impact of the organization and this proposal on your community.

Hispanics/Latinos are identified as comprising at least 25% of the population directly benefitting from your general programming, however, I don't see anything in the narrative to indicate how language barriers might be addressed.

Rivera Darren - Score: 92.000

Project Listen sounds impressive. Good diversity/impact regarding target population. Nice redesign of web site. Good use of online marketing. Concerns about staff and Board turnover.

Rusconi Ellen - Score: 88.000

Goals and objectives should be more clearly identified for the evaluator

Partnerships - good specificity

Timeline - Concert schedule seems fully planned. Proposal would be stronger if producing steps were included in this proposal.

Large program, strong impact numbers of people

1 underserved county (as noted on the map provided)

Economic impact - more data please - how many from out of town?  Audience demographics would help.  Economic impact study through Americans for the Arts or others would benefit this section.

Free programming is good.

Marketing - this section feels complete, addressing in house, tools, trade and paid advertising. In general a more active voice  (for example, "we plan to" instead of "it was decided") would be preferable.

Social media data and click-through rates give good context.

Fiscal Condition and Sustainability - a note explaining employee turnover would be helpful

How does the projected deficit in the current year affect the organization?  Is there enough surplus from prior seasons to cover the loss?

More Budget information would be appreciated.

Football tickets of $6K????

Project cost is in excess of organizational budget by $50K?  Need Additional Proposal Budget Information

No accessibility symbols on any brochures or attached materials

Work sample showing work - or audio clip - would be helpful.
