Clercx Byron - Score: 92.000

Excellence:

  • The FAU mission statement is clear, global, aspirational and its programs and activities fully support the mission
  • Straight-forward Goals and Objectives were delineated but how they would be measured or assessed was not completely apparent (without quantitative targets or stretch targets)
  • Activities were not specifically addressed in this section but a schedule of exhibitions was providing along with narrative descriptions.
  • A list of partners was listed under a heading accompanied by brief contextual narratives

Impact:

  • Provides significant cultural services and opportunities to the community
  • Consider emphasizing and/or expanding on FAU’s abundant contributions to the creative economy by referencing the American’s for the Arts, Arts & Economic Prosperity 5 report which are embedded with compelling statistical data, testimonials, case studies and a useful economic prosperity calculator.
  • The marketing and promotional activities (print and radio advertising, printed promotional materials, FAU School of Arts brochure, exhibition catalogs and digital media strategies (mailings, website, social media, and marketing to the press) are appropriate and effective for the size/scope of the program/project
  • Educational and outreach components serve the target constituency and are appropriate for the program/project

Management:

  • Measurable evaluation plans limited to pre/post surveys and visitor logs in gallery
  • Very minimal concerns about organizations fiscal well-being and ability to sustain the program/project after grant cycle

Accessibility:

  • Applicant has completed the Abbreviated Accessibility Checklist (but not the Section 504 Self Evaluation Workbook).

Ryan Sara - Score: 88.000

Excellence: Mission statement needs proof reading. Can improve goals 1 and 2 by specifying a target audience/population.

Impact: Strong conviction for properly compensating artists, curators, and writers and strong commitment to mentorship.

Management: Prohibited from running a deficit, but what is your track record for success?

Accessibility: In tune with make-up of student body. Does attendance at the gallery mirror that? What is the make-up of community members that utilize the galleries?

Sanfilippo Amanda - Score: 94.000

Thorough and organized program. Paying attention to contemporary artists.
