Clercx Byron - Score: 91.000

Excellence:

  • The CSMoA mission statement is clear, welcoming, and the programs/activities fully support the mission
  • CSMoA’s stated programmatic goals are straight-forward and support the mission:
    • Expand the reach of in-house programming
    • Expand the reach of visual art experiences through specialized offering
  • Each goal listed three objectives with measurable quantitative targets (e.g., increase school visits by 15%...by building new or expanding upon existing relationships with school administrators and teachers)
  • This benchmarking approach should yield useful data patterns that identify strengths and areas for improvement during the assessment process.
  • Clearly describes planned exhibitions (activities) and extensive partnerships and collaborations.
  • Confident in the ability of the organization to carry out the proposal and apply what it learns to improve its offerings and outlook

Impact:

  • CSMoA provides significant cultural services and opportunities to the community
  • Educational and outreach components serve the target constituency and are appropriate for the program/project
  • The Marketing and Promotion plan is expansive and effective
  • Very appropriate numbers of individuals served (280K total, 96K adults, 105 artists directly involved, 16.8K school-based youths and 16: non school-based youths, etc.)
  • CSMoA showcase some of the value-added creative economy conditions and outcomes they help engender in the community/city.
    • Cultural destination: As a major contributor to the cultural epicenter for the northwest region of Broward, the Museum contributes to the economic impact of the City, County and South Florida overall.
    • Business friendly: Located in proximity to downtown Coral Springs, CSMoA attracts visitors to the area where local restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues benefit from Museum visitors. CSMoA also lends to the appeal of major corporations considering Florida as home.
    • Local Spending: every $1 CSMoA spends on programming to bring in visitors, visitors then spend approximately $12.03 in the area. This yields nearly $500K in revenue for local government and an additional $500K for Florida. CSMoA also contributes to over 175 full time jobs in the culture industry with an additional 200 full time jobs in non-culture industries.
    • Cultural Tourism:
      • CSMoA draws in-state visitors from cities in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach, such as Miami Beach and Royal Palm Beach, as well as other areas of Florida such as Tampa, Maitland and Indian Rocks Beach.
      • Over the past FY, out out-of-state visitors represent nearly 13% of the overall census of the cultural institution with nearly 1% of visitors from international locations such as Germany and Spain, an increase of 3% over the previous FY.
    • Moving forward, while you may be familiar with these sources, consider including all corroborating sources in the narrative, like: American’s for the Arts, Arts & Economic Prosperity 5 report which provides compelling statistical data, testimonials, case studies, and a handy economic prosperity calculator.

Management:

  • Very confident in the ability of the organizations fiscal well-being and the ability of applicant to carry out project/programing during the grant cycle and sustain successful programming and the grant funding expires.
  • Evaluation methods may not be fully developed or measurable

Accessibility:

  • Appears to meet most ADA accessibility requirements (504 Self Eval, compliance staff person, etc.) but still working on installing automated front door.
Dodds Jed - Score: 89.000
Exhibitions and workshops programs appear strong, though could be more ambitious. Outreach efforts are noteworthy. Modest budget given the scope
Harder Lee Ellen - Score: 91.000

while the goals and objectives are admirable and seek to provide vital cultural services, the grant-writing needs improvement .

it was difficult to follow, and there are several instances of the misuse of words, and improper grammar and typos, etc.

Krivinchuk Jeremiah - Score: 91.000
Goals and program budget are not aligned closely to show what positions will work to achieve outcomes set by the two goals in the application.
Packard Lisa - Score: 100.000

Ryan Sara - Score: 96.000

Excellence: Strong, concise mission. Focused vision for next 20 years. Objectives measurable and include how they will be achieved in first two goals, however how the permanent collection will be expanded and how the organization will reassess its effectiveness are never addressed. Extensive partnerships and timeline.

Impact: Impressive education and outreach programs.

Management: Strong fiscal condition.Communicates culture of diligence and best practices.

Accessibility: Only applicant to mention power assist doors.
